Is CollabBill free?
Yes. CollabBill is currently free to use — there is no paid tier, no trial, and no account to create.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no signup or login. Open the app and start working immediately.
Where is my data stored?
In your browser’s local storage, on your current device. CollabBill has no cloud database and no server-side accounts — nothing is uploaded.
Can I back up or move my data?
Yes. Settings → Data lets you export a full JSON backup and import it again — for example to move to another browser or device, or to restore after clearing your browser data.
Does CollabBill sync between devices?
Not automatically. Because your data is stored locally, each device has its own workspace. Use the export/import backup to move data between them.
Can I generate invoices as PDFs?
Yes. Every invoice, estimate, proposal, receipt, credit note, and debit note exports as a polished multi-page PDF, and can also be printed.
Can I use it for brand collaborations and sponsorships?
Yes — that is what CollabBill is designed for. Collaborations track campaigns, deliverables, deadlines, and payment milestones; invoices support usage rights, exclusivity, deposit/milestone/final billing, and credit or debit notes.
Can freelancers and agencies use it?
Yes. Freelancers get clients, estimates, invoices, and payment tracking. Agencies can manage client work per engagement with collaboration workspaces, expenses, and exports — though there are no team accounts or multi-user features today.
Does CollabBill send emails or payment reminders?
No. CollabBill never sends anything. Follow-up dates and statuses are manual tracking tools — you stay in control of every message.
Does CollabBill process payments?
No. CollabBill records payments that you have received through your own channels (bank transfer, UPI, PayPal, etc.) and tracks outstanding balances. It does not process or verify payments.
Do you support my currency?
CollabBill supports INR, USD, EUR, GBP, AED, AUD, CAD, SGD, and JPY, with per-currency formatting. Foreign-currency payments can be recorded with a manual exchange rate you enter.
Can I create GST invoices for brand deals?
Yes. Invoices support multi-tax including GST, VAT, and custom tax labels with separate rates per line, so Indian creators can bill brands with proper tax breakdowns. See the billing features on the Features page.
What happens to my data if I clear my browser?
Clearing browser data or using private browsing removes locally stored records — that is the trade-off of local-first storage. Export a full JSON backup from Settings → Data regularly and you can restore everything on any device.
Which devices and browsers does CollabBill work on?
Any modern browser on desktop, tablet, or phone — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. Nothing to install; the workspace and every PDF export run entirely in the browser.
Can I customize how my invoices look?
Yes — 8 document templates with adjustable accent colors and fonts, and every invoice, estimate, proposal, and receipt exports as a polished multi-page PDF you can print or send.
Is CollabBill a full accounting system?
No. CollabBill is a billing and business management tool for independent professionals. It tracks invoicing, payments, and expenses — it is not double-entry bookkeeping and does not replace an accountant.
